Worse side of politics

Dear Editor:

In an editorial titled "Party politics at its worst," Jim Zbick has either forgotten or ignored recent history. President Barack Obama reached out and tried to cooperate time and again with Republican Congress members. Unfortunately, the Republican leadership decided the week of Obama's election that they would do everything in their power to stymie his agenda.

That went on for eight years. Now we have a president who commits unconstitutional acts, attacks the courts, won't release his income tax records, seems to have a special fondness for Vladimir Putin, and promotes "fake news" to distract the American public.

And Mr. Zbick is worried about Democrats in Congress being rude. I was hoping at least one of them would shout "Liar," but they were too polite.
