Pocono Mountain Regional Police arrested Aaron Sterlin Baez, 20, of Mount Pocono, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop at 12:45 a.m. March 9 on Route 611 in Mount Pocono.

Police said he was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped after it was driving behind the police cruiser with its high-beam lights on.

After the stop, police said they discovered there was a warrant out of Pocono Township for the arrest of Baez, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Police said they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon conducting a search, police found marijuana concealed within the dashboard, behind the radio.

Police said Baez and the driver acknowledged that Baez had removed the drugs from his pockets and placed it in the dashboard.
