A 22-year-old Albrightsville woman was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville, after assaulting her mother in an incident at 1:23 a.m.Tuesday.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police charged Lauren Dennis, of Lookout Drive, with simple assault and harassment. She was taken into custody, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Richard Claypool, and was temporarily committed to jail, police said.

Police said they were dispatched to the residence listed above for a well-being check. And, upon investigating, discovered a domestic dispute had occurred earlier when the accused physically assaulted her mother by scratching her face and arms after being asked to leave the residence.
