Two Monroe County residents are facing a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a two-vehicle crash reported at 4:45 p.m. on March 11 at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Theresa Boyle, 38, of Stroudsburg, was stopped for a red light southbound on Weir Lake Road when her 2005 Kia Sedona was rear-ended by a 1999 Toyota 4Runner driven by Jennifer B. Spurr, 43, of Brodheadsville.

Boyle complained of neck pain and was taken by West End ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Campus in East Stroudsburg.

Neither Spurr nor her passenger, Stephen J. Bachman, 53, of Brodheadsville, were injured.

Troopers said Spurr and Bachman both displayed signs of impairment and had switched seats after the crash occurred.

The two were arrested for DUI and taken to the county DUI center for processing.
