Art of Monica Nagle to be exhibited at concert
The artwork of songwriter, singer and artist Monica Nagle has been added to the Lester Hirsh Concert at the Tamaqua Community Art Center on Saturday.
Nagle, of Dover, New Hampshire, generally performs a carefully crafted mix of original material and standards that fit her advocacy and philanthropic goals centered around peace and justice.
A former director of Arts and Humanities for the New Hampshire YMCA, she participated in the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation's "It Takes a Community" project, which was sponsored by the Ford Foundation. She is also the designer of the award winning "Art Of Life" program, an arts-centered drug prevention program.
Her latest project is a three-book series "If You Had Heard My Voice." Book one includes a collection of poetry, art, lyrics, and prose meant to inspire and heal, while book two focuses on homelessness. Both are available at www.amazon.com.
The final installment of the series will be about mothers and daughters.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. this Saturday. The art center is located at 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.
