Inducted into college honor societies
Molly McArdle, of Jim Thorpe, was recently inducted into two Honor Societies at King's College, Wilkes-Barre. She is the daughter of Laura Ann and Kevin McArdle and sister to Ryan and Erin.
Molly's first induction was to the Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. Ideals of the society are academic, excellence, leadership, service and unity. Each of the inductees received an honor stole cord and a society pin. They are to have an overall GPA of 3.2 after the completion of at least four criminal justice courses. She is ranked in the top 35 percent in criminal justice.
Her second induction was Alpha Kappa Delta, International Sociology Honor Society, of which she is ranked in the top 3 percent of the sociology class. AKD membership is offered to junior and senior students who declare sociology as a major or minor and completed at least four sociology courses and have an overall GPA of at least 3.2 and a sociology GPA of at least 3.0.
Molly has recently completed her junior year at King's and is a 2014 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School. She is majoring in criminal justice with an additional major in sociology.
