Luzerne driver facing charges in Monroe
A Luzerne County driver is facing charges in Monroe County.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said a vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed at 7:52 p.m. May 13 along Route 115 at the Keswick Pointe Development. A traffic stop was made and the driver said he had no identification on him.
Police said he then initially provided a false name, but through an investigation, it was learned that his real name was Daryl Gevatis Smith, 46, of Larksville.
It was further learned that Smith's license was under suspension. As a result, Smith was charged with false ID to law enforcement, driving under suspension and driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
