A McAdoo patrolman received minor injuries when he responded to a domestic dispute call in the borough on May 28.

Officers were called to the 200 block of East Washington Street at 8:53 p.m. for a disturbance. As they arrived, they could hear screaming from inside a residence. A crowd was forming on the sidewalk and street.

A woman, identified as Lisbeth Alicea-Mendez, 22, came out of the home, yelling profanities at someone in the crowd. When officers tried to arrest her, she began resisting, then started slamming her head against a window of the home, As the officer placed her in handcuffs, he was hit from behind by Shear Avory, 18. There was a scuffle, but both Avory and Alicea-Mendez were subdued, then taken to Lehigh Valley Hazleton Hospital for treatment.

They were released from the hospital a short time later and arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer, who set bail for both defendants at $30,000 cash.

Alicea-Mendez was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and three counts of disorderly conduct, while Avory was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and obstruction of justice.
