Reader's Turn: "What was your most memorable book, song or movie of the summer?"
Aaron Miller, junior "The Count of Monte Cristo." There was always something different, changing. I felt like I didn't know what was coming next, so I had to keep reading.
Alyssa Dean, Sophomore "Spider-Man: Homecoming." He never gave up on trying to do what he wanted to succeed at, and it just gave me motivation to never give up on what I want to complete in my life.
Frankie Horn, Sophomore "300" I loved that movie so much because they just sounded smart when they spoke. They fought with honor when they died, and they fought without hesitation. It was only 300, and they went against a whole army and lasted so long.
Grace Williams, Senior "Milk & Honey" by Rupi Kaur It's a book full of poems, so there's not really a plot or storyline. It's a new story on each page. I liked that about it.
Kylie Herlihy, Senior "1-800-273-8255" by Logic. It's a song about suicide. In the beginning of the song he talks about how he doesn't want to live anymore, then toward the end of the song he builds it back and he wants to live. It kind of just makes me think about appreciating life, and every life is precious, and nobody should ever think that they should want to die.
Shayne Shaffer, Senior "The Law of Attraction" by Jack Canfield. The title says it all. If you really want to attract positivity in your life, you just have to read the book and figure it out. It's all in there. I'll use it for the rest of my life.
