Lehigh County open gate farm tours

For more than four decades, farms throughout Lehigh County "open their gates" to the public to help educate the community on exactly what they do. The public is welcome to discover the wide array of farms that are growing fruits and vegetables, making cheese and yogurt, training horses, raising alpacas and more.

This year's event takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15.

Farms included on the tour are: Heidel Hollow Farm, Venture Farms, Eight Oaks Craft Distillers, Subarashi Kudamono, Lyon Creek Farm, Willow Haven Farm, Weathered Vineyards, Gress Mountain Ranch, Manito Equestrian Center, Burnside Plantation, Flint Hill Farm, Hausman Fruit Farms, Marwell Dairy Farm, Pappy's Orchard, Kraussdale Alpacas, The Seed Farm, Boots and Saddle Riding Club, Historic Haines Mill Museum and Grim's Orchard and Family Farms.
