Pleasant Vy. storms past Stroudsburg
The Pleasant Valley volleyball team took down Stroudsburg Friday afternoon.
In cross country action, Tamaqua and Palmerton had strong showings in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.

Pleasant Valley-Stroudsburg
Pleasant Valley dropped the first set before rolling to a 15-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Stroudsburg.
Cameron Caffrey had 32 assists, eight digs, four kills and one ace for the Bears (9-9-3, 6-5). Arianna Weaver added 12 kills, six aces, six digs and two blocks, while Katie Frankunas contributed 10 kills, five digs, two blocks and two aces.

Tamaqua, Palmerton
Paul Short Invitational
Tamaqua and Palmerton competed in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
Sarah Maue led an impressive showing by the Lady Raiders, finishing 19th with a time of 19:52. Strong runs by Francis Kabana (48th, 20:40), Kailee Carroll (54th, 20:51) and Lottie Mateyak (89th, 21:19) helped Tamaqua finish fifth out of 39 teams with 299 points. Central Dauphin East’s Makenna Krebs won the girls’ race in 18:41.
Palmerton’s Jacob Martinez was the top-area finisher in the boys’ race, placing 32nd with a time of 16:53. Tamaqua’s Brad Clemson finished 55th (17:08). Jack Miller of Jenkintown crossed the line in 15:48 to win the boys’ race.
FIELD HOCKEY
Salisbury-Northwestern
Northwestern and Salisbury played to a 1-1 overtime draw in Colonial League action.
Allison Costa gave the Tigers the lead in the first half.
But Isabella Martinez scored in the second half for the Falcons to tie the game.
GIRLS SOCCER
Allentown Central Catholic-Pleasant Valley
Allentown Central Catholic and Pleasant Valley battled through two overtimes but settled for a 0-0 draw in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.
Schyler Herman made 14 saves for the Bears, who had 14 shots on goal and five corners in the game.
