2019 general election: Council positions are decided in Palmerton

Two Republicans and a Democrat survived a six-person race in Palmerton on Tuesday, winning three four-year terms on the borough council.

The winners were GOP members Terry Costenbader and Andrew J. Hollywood, who collected 565 and 439 votes, respectively, and Democrat Holly F. Hausman Sell, who tallied 449.

Failing to win a term were Democrats Randolph Gursky and Donald F. Heiney, who received 430 and 337 votes, respectively, and Republican Joseph Slovick, who netted 394 votes.

There was a two-year term on the council filled by the electorate as well. That went to Republican Michael J. Ballard, who was unopposed and received 744 token votes.
