2019 general election: Council seats are decided in Bowmanstown

Bowmanstown voters on Tuesday settled a four-person race for three four-year terms on the borough council.

The winners were Republicans Pamela J. Leiby and William Ravert and Democrat Kara Scott. Losing out was Republican Norman A. Engle Jr.

Leiby was the top vote recipient with 128 votes, followed by Scott with 96 and Ravert with 92. Engle finished fourth with 89 votes.

Meanwhile, Mayor Zachary Snyder, a Republican, was unopposed for the two-year term that was on the ballot. He collected 146 token votes.

Bowmanstown also had a race for a two-year term on the council. Ravert was unopposed in that balloting and received 119 votes.

In nearby Parryville, there was also no contest as only one person ran for two four-year terms on the borough council, that being Democrat Jason T. Smith, who collected 82 complimentary votes. There were also 35 write-in votes recorded for the second position on the board.
