2019 general election: Five four-year seats filled on Palmerton board
Five four-year terms on the Palmerton Area School District Board of Education were determined Tuesday.
Four of the winners won both Democratic and Republican nominations in the primary election and appeared on both ballots. They included Audrey Larvey, who topped the ballot with 1,863 votes; incumbent Sherry A. Haas, who was second with 1,727 votes; Brandon Mazepa, third place with 1,715 votes; and Doris D. Zellers, who finished fifth with 1,506.
The fifth seat went to the fourth-place finisher, Republican Tammy L. Recker, an incumbent, who garnered 1,612 votes.
Losing out was Democrat Brenda L. McGrath, who collected 1,129 votes.
