Published November 06. 2019 01:16PM

The voters in two lower Carbon County townships — Lower Towamensing and Towamensing — decided supervisors’ positions in each of those municipalities in Tuesday’s general election.

In Lower Towamensing, Republican Jay Mullikin won a two-year term over Democrat Tina Henninger by a vote of 392 to 180.

There was also a six-year term on the board up for grabs. The lone candidate, Connie D. Brown, won both Democratic and Republican nominations in the primary election and was unopposed. She collected 456 token votes.

The Lower Towamensing, voters cast 34 write-in voters for a six-year term on the township’s board of auditors since there were no candidates on the ballot for the position.

In Towamensing, there were two supervisor’s races, one for a six-year term and the other for a two-year term.

In the balloting for the six-year term, Republican Scott H. Mosier was a 470-446 winner over Democrat Michael S. George.

For the two-year term, Mosier defeated Democrat William Acierno by a vote of 547 to 349.

Republican Tanya Frey collected 769 complimentary votes in an unopposed run for the six-year term on Towamensing’s board of auditors.
