2019 general election: Two incumbents lose seats on Jim Thorpe Borough Council
Two incumbent Jim Thorpe Borough Council members went down in defeat on Tuesday.
Democrat Jay T. Miller and Republican John T. McGuire lost their seats on the board in a six-person race for three four-year terms of office that were up for grabs.
The winners were newcomers Michael J. Yeastedt and Robert C. Schaninger and incumbent Kyle J. Sheckler.
Yeastedt led the balloting with 905 votes, followed by Sheckler with 714 and Schaninger with 693.
Miller and newcomer Mary Shorten finished in fourth and fifth places with 639 and 612 votes, respectively, while McGuire was the low vote recipient with 577 votes.
