Norman A. Burger of Chestnuthill Township is a candidate for the Pleasant Valley School Board. He is a graduate of Polk Township High School, East Stroudsburg State College and Texas A&M University.

He served in the military for 22 years and worked in aerospace industry 20 years, where he developed and managed plans and budgets in the tens of millions annually. He was a military, aerospace and university instructor. He and a brother have had a construction company for over 30 years.

He returned to Pennsylvania in 2004 and raised two granddaughters, who are Pleasant Valley graduates. He is an active member in his church, the West End Fair Association, several local historical groups and military associations.

He worked to preserve the Jonas Oven and Merwinsburg Hotel, participated in Monroe County’s 175th and the West End’s 250th celebrations, and authored several history and genealogy books. He is a speaker on local history topics.

Burger believes his background and experience would be a benefit to the students, administration, board and the taxpayer community. His objective is to work with the board and administrators to provide our youth a safe environment with a range of quality education opportunities suitable to their talents and interests that is also taxpayer affordable.
