Donna L. Gentile of Jim Thorpe has announced her candidacy for the office of Carbon recorder of deeds.

She is seeking the Republican Party nomination in the May primary election.

Gentile has been employed by the Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank for the past 20 years as a customer service representative, and nine years as an assistant branch manager, 10 years as a commissioned notary public and six years as the Jim Thorpe Area High School volleyball coach. She volunteered as board member and treasurer of Discovery Fellowship Church.

A lifelong resident of Carbon County, she is the daughter of Dennis and Nancy Hinkle of Weatherly. She is a 1981 graduate of Weatherly Area High School and Carbon County Vocational Technical School.

Wife of William (Bill) Gentile, she has two daughters, Daphne Gasker and Dorothy Gasker. Her grandson, Xavier Boston, attends the Jim Thorpe Area School District. She also has two stepsons, Billy Cleveland and Kevan Gentile.

Gentile believes her years of serving the public through employment and voluntary work have qualified her to serve Carbon County as the recorder of deeds.
