2019 primary election: Greggo announces candidacy for Pleasant Valley school board
Teresa Greggo, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, announces her candidacy for the Pleasant Valley School Board.
Residing in the Pleasant Valley School District for more than 30 years, Greggo, a retired elementary teacher, is willing, ready and able to volunteer.
Her positive outlook and positive energy can help foster teamwork among board members, helping them to be as productive as can be, working effectively and efficiently. She brings to the table 34 years of educational experiences to help focus and advocate for the best interest of all students at Pleasant Valley.
The main platform to her commitment of service is new leadership for changing times. Her focus is on community involvement. One identified need is to fill the board room each month with concerns and comments. “Help be the voice of change, rather than being complacent. Stay aware and be watchful of decisions being made. In a school district as large as Pleasant Valley, considering the size of our buildings, let us bring back the comfort of the small school community. Continue to focus on the whole child’s needs: socially, emotionally, physically and academically,” she said.
“Since Pleasant Valley has hired more administrators, their expectations could involve more direct interaction with students. Also, focus on utilizing the wonderful resources we have within the walls of our district.
“Pleasant Valley has exceptional teachers. Excellence in education: A community commitment is our existing mission statement. Let us do our part as citizens and stay involved as we continue to prepare tomorrow’s leaders, today.”
The change we need. The voices we deserve.
