21 judges and inspectors of elections determined by write-in votes in Carbon
Carbon County voters were slated to elect one judge of elections and two inspectors of elections in the 51 voting precincts in the county when the general election was held on Nov. 7. In some cases, however, there were no candidates’ names on either the Democratic or Republican ballots for the posts, all four-year terms.
That meant the positions were up for grabs via the write-in vote method. To win each office, a person needed only one vote, or more than another person who received vote(s) for the same office.
Twenty-one positions ended up being filled by the electorate using write-in votes.
The winners were:
East Penn Township: James Zelrick, inspector of elections, District 8, one vote.
