Accident results in charges
A Summit Hill woman was charged in connection with a Nov. 23 crash that damaged property along Owl Creek Road in Tamaqua.
Ashley Diane Baldini, 32, of East Fell Street, was driving a 2000 Nissan Xterra when she lost control, struck a utility pole, shearing it off at the base, and continued on, striking a mailbox and the gate to the upper Owl Creek Reservoir.
She told the officer she was drunk and felt pain in both of her knees. When asked for her license and registration, she told the officer they were in the car.
While retrieving the documents the officer found two hypodermic needles and an orange pill in Baldini’s purse. She said the pill was Suboxone. Baldini was transported to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.
She was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving.
