Annual Skippy Dietz rabies clinic is planned
The 24th Annual Skippy Dietz Rabies Clinic will be held on Saturday at the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Building, Lake Drive, Lake Harmony, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shots for both dogs and cats will be available at a cost of $15 per shot. All animals must be in a cage or on a leash.
The clinic is dedicated in memory of Sandi Dietz, who spearheaded the clinic to combat rabies before her passing over 10 years ago on the premise that vaccination and education continue to be the most effective weapon in combating rabies.
Carbon County Treasurer Ronald J. Sheehan will be on hand at the event to sell dog licenses. State law requires all dogs 3 months or older have a license. Out-of-county residents must contact their own county treasurer for a license.
Dr. Sharon Lachette of the White Haven Veterinary Hospital has donated her time to administer the inoculations.
The rescue squad building is 1.4 miles west of Route 903, next to Shenanigan’s Restaurant. For more information, call 570-722-1782.
