Area baseball team enjoying success

The Lehigh Carbon men’s baseball team recently started its season with a 6-2 record, and was ranked 25th in the country in the national junior college Division II poll.

The squad spent a week in Myrtle Beach for spring training and went 6-0.

Multiple players who have graduated from Times News area schools are on the squad: Aaron Joyce (C), Derek Joyce (3B), Justin Marykwas (SP) and Christian Fayocavitz (OF) are graduates from Jim Thorpe. Collin Haupt (SS-Lehighton), Toby Sander (SP-Palmerton), Trevor Schreiner (OF-Northwestern) and Dakota Laudenslager (2B-Northwestern) are also area players.
