Attendance good at Carbon County Fair
Despite a few rainy days, this year’s Carbon County Fair will be going down in the books a success, president Robert Silliman said Saturday.
Silliman said typically, when calculating the fair’s finances, administrators plan on losing one day to inclement weather.
“All in all, we’re probably going to have the best attendance that we’ve had in the past years,” Silliman said.
The bazaar featured more than 100 vendors, as well as a 20th anniversary giveaway — which included a one-week trip to Orlando.
“Overall, I feel the fair was a huge success this year,” Silliman said.
The fair is organized completely by volunteers.
Silliman said they will have about a week off after the fair’s end before planning for 2020 starts.
He added that more volunteers — especially younger people who are willing to take on leadership roles — are needed.
“We’re looking for people to step up to the plate,” Silliman said.
