ATV, truck stolen, money swiped from cars in Nesquehoning

Published June 01. 2019 03:03PM

Nesquehoning Police are investigating the theft of a truck, a stolen ATV and a series of cars entered in the Hauto Valley Estates area of the borough.

The incidents occurred between Thursday night and Friday morning, according to Officer Tim Wuttke. Police said they saw a video of the truck, stolen from 4th Avenue, following a white box truck, which was also determined to be stolen. The identity of the suspects cannot be determined in the video. The vehicles were recovered in separate locations in Allentown Friday.

The ATV, an orange and white Honda 450R, was taken from a shed. The ATV has an LED bar light on the handlebar.

About 20 cars were gone through, with loose change, cash and pills taken. Incidents occurred from 2nd to 7th avenues.

Wuttke cautioned residents to keep their car doors locked. All the cars that were entered were unlocked.

Locking your car is a no-brainer unless you don't care about your stuff going missing. It must be embarrassing to report a robbery, and to tell the officer "my car was not locked".
I’ve found that, the best way to ensure that you don’t fall victim to theft is by not owning anything of value.
