The Palmerton boys and girls basketball teams picked up wins against Moravian Academy on Wednesday night. The Northern Lehigh and Panther Valley girls also picked up victories.

In wrestling action, both Lehighton and Panther Valley earned wins.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Moravian A.-Palmerton

Nate Dougherty scored 30 points and Palmerton rallied past Moravian Academy 66-61.

Dougherty scored nine of his game-high 30 points in the Blue Bombers’ 25-point fourth quarter. Ryan Yacone and Eric Baumgardt scored 10 points apiece for the Blue Bombers, who trailed 47-41 entering the fourth period.

Catasauqua used a huge third quarter to slip past Northern Lehigh for a 62-59 Colonial League win.

Isaiah Graves went 12-for-12 from the foul line and scored a game-high 32 points for the Rough Riders, who utilized a 28-point third period to take the lead.

Preston Kemery and Brandon Hess scored 16 points apiece for the Bulldogs, who led 27-18 at halftime. Gio Colon added 14 points.

Two late free throws helped Pen Argyl pick up a 56-54 non-league victory over Weatherly.

TJ Lilly ran down a loose ball with time winding down that led to the game-winning foul shots for the Green Knights, who were led by Taj Cleary-Kojo’s 22 points. Lilly added 13 points.

Freshman Scotty Zoscin had 17 points, while Gabe Miller added 14 to pace the Wreckers.

The Lehighton middle school wrestling team competed at the Blue Mountain Tournament this past weekend.

Austin Kern placed first for the Indians, while Colin Wentz had a third place finish. Mitchell Nailor and Lucas Ferguson both placed seventh, and Michael Rodriguez was eighth.
