Blue Ridge and Pocono Mountains United Way ‘Bundle Up’ kids
Blue Ridge once again joined forces with the Pocono Mountains United Way to provide new winter coats to children and families in the area.
During the month of November, Blue Ridge launched a special promotion that helped make the new coat distribution possible.
When customers “bundled up” their high-speed data, phone or video services, Blue Ridge in turn would purchase a new winter coat.
Tim Lee, executive director of Pocono Services for Families and Children, said, “We are thrilled to work with Blue Ridge and Pocono Mountains United Way to get these warm coats to children in our community.”
It was a collaborative team effort among many community partners that made this donation and day possible. The coordination and logistics to make this happen were critical and, in addition to the many Blue Ridge employees who volunteered to assist, there were also representatives from Pocono Mountains United Way and partnering agencies like Pocono Services for Families and Children to lend a helping hand.
“It’s wonderful to see Blue Ridge support our community through the Bundle Up program. This will go a long way to provide warmth for the children that need it most,” said Misozi Houston, financial stability manager of Pocono Mountains United Way.
“I am very proud of how our organization supports the communities we serve throughout the year and our ‘Bundle Up’ campaign is always a highlight for me personally,” said Mark Masenheimer, VP of Operations for Blue Ridge.
“This is a “win-win” scenario; our customers saved money by ‘bundling’ their services with us and by partnering with Pocono Mountains United Way, we delivered new winter coats for hundreds of children just in time for winter. Seeing the excitement of the children when they put on their new coat and the relief and gratefulness on the faces of the parents makes it all worthwhile. Knowing that we helped create that moment is pretty special. I would like to thank all of our customers and employees that “bundled up” and made this day possible,” Masenheimer said.
