Bollinger named to PSFCA East team
Northwestern quarterback Deven Bollinger has been selected to play in the 2020 PSFCA East/West All Star Game. Bollinger will represent the East team, which will be coached by Schuylkill Haven’s Mike Farr.
The two-time Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Football Player of the Year, Bollinger completed 131 of 221 pass attempts for 2,105 yards and 35 touchdowns this past season, while also carrying the ball 181 times for 1,005 yards and eight scores – the first area player ever to top 2,000 yards passing and rush for over 1,000.
With Bollinger at the helm, the Tigers averaged 37.5 points per game in 2018 and 38.6 ppg. this past season, when they finished 10-2 and advanced to the District 11 Class 4A semifinals for the second consecutive season. On defense, Bollinger had three interceptions, and made 35 total tackles.
This past season, the quarterback ranked second among area players in passing yardage and third in rushing.
Bollinger, also a two-time all-star selection, will continue his career at the University of Delaware next fall.
Nazareth’s Nathan Stefanik (wide receiver) and Jake Wilson (defensive end), Bethlehem Catholic’s Jerry Lyons (offensive line) and George French (offensive line), and Schuylkill Haven’s Gavin Evitts (kicker/punter) also will represent District 11 in the contest.
The game will be played Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Landis Field (Central Dauphin School District) in Harrisburg.
