Bombers’ Leister will play basketball at Moravian College
Palmerton High School’s Linnaea Leister will continue her academic and basketball career at Division 3 Moravian College.
Leister was a four-year member of the Bombers’ basketball team, serving as a captain for three years.
Leister recently topped the 1,000-point milestone and heads into postseason play with 1,016 career points. She owns the school record (boys and girls) for career three-pointers with 124. So far during her senior season, Leister has scored 287 points and is averaging 13.05 points per game.
Leister was a three-time Colonial League All-Star, earning honorable mention status after her sophomore year and second team honors as a junior and senior. She was also a three-time member of the Lehighton Indian Classic All-Tournament team. She was recently selected to play in the Via Lehigh Valley All-Star Classic.
In addition to basketball, Leister played two years of varsity soccer at Palmerton. She was also a member of the Leo Club, Student Council, the Environmental Club, and Student Forum.
Leister, the daughter of Barry and Kathleen Leister, plans to major in occupational therapy at Moravian.
