Box truck hits deer in Schuylkill, runs off road

A Carbon County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County on Monday at 12:40 p.m.

State police at Frackville said Andrew J. Roe, 33, of Lehighton, was driving a 2017 Isuzu box truck southbound on the Burma Road in Blythe Township when a deer entered the road in front of him.

Roe attempted to turn away, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The truck went onto the berm and struck an embankment.

Neither Roe nor his passenger, Joseph A. Heyer, 39, of Palmerton, were injured. The truck was towed.
