Break-in, other incidents investigated

State police at Lehighton reported investigating burglary and acts of criminal mischief.

• Troopers said a burglary occurred at a residence along Mahoning Mountain Road in Mahoning Township. The incident occurred sometime between Oct. 15, 2018, and March 20. Items taken were an oversized blue recliner, China Japanese dolls, statues of dogs guarding ball over temple and racing jackets. Total estimated value of the items taken was set at $875. There was damage to a door handle of $50. The listed victim is a 54-year-old woman from Lansford.

• Troopers reported on mailboxes being damaged in the Monroe County area. Three mailboxes along Lobach Lane in Eldred Township and two along Foxcroft Drive in Ross Township, were damaged on Saturday at various overnight hours. Damage was estimated at $100.

• State police are investigating an incident that occurred at 4:57 p.m. Saturday at the Trexler Scout Reservation, located at Trexler and Jonas roads, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said three people were observed trying to seal an all-terrain vehicle and caused damage to a locked storage container. The three fled into a wooded area when a ranger attempted to make contact with them. The ranger told troopers security measures will be increased at all locations in the reservation.
