Burglary at Lehighton Water Authority building in Packerton Yards

Mahoning Township Police are seeking information on a burglary at the Lehighton Water Authority building in the Packerton Yards.

Township police said at 1:04 a.m. Oct. 17, an alarm activation led to the discovery of a burglary at the building.

Patrick Mriss, assistant superintendent for the Lehighton Water Authority, said the building is known as the Lehigh River pump station.

“Fencing was cut, got access to the building, but an alarm sounded,” Mriss said, adding that they notified authorities.
