Butkus part of First Team relay squads
Tamaqua graduate Joann Butkus was part of four relay teams that were First-Team selections to the Landmark Conference All-Conference team.
Butkus was a member of Susquehanna University’s 200-yard Medley Relay and 400-yard Medley Relay teams, as well as the 200 and 400-yard freestyle squads that received top honors. All four relays took first at the Landmark Championships.
The 400-free relay also set a school and meet record, finishing in a time of 3:33.24.
Butkus gained Second-Team honors as an individual, earning the status in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.
The senior was part of four straight team Landmark team titles (they’ve actually won eight in a row), and she also captured a conference Female Swimmer of the Week award in January.
