Candidates’ petitions continue to flow into Carbon election bureau

Candidates have until Tuesday to file petitions in the Carbon County Elections Bureau to have their names appear on the Democratic and Republican ballots continued this week at the office at 56 Susquehanna St., Jim Thorpe.

The filings relate to candidacies in the May 21 primary election.

To successfully file the petitions, they must contain the signatures of 10 registered voters in the jurisdiction in which the candidate is seeking office in a borough, township or school district, or the signatures of 100 registered voters from throughout the county on behalf of people seeking county offices.

The petition circulating period began on Feb. 19.

The latest list of people who officially became candidates for the respective offices includes:

Democrats

David A. Wargo: 236 E. Hazard St., Summit Hill, seeking a two-year term and a four-year term on the Summit Hill Borough Council.

Holly F. Sell Hausman: 105 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton, seeking a four-year term on the Palmerton Borough Council.

Kara Scott: 422 Ore St., Bowmanstown, seeking a four-year term on the Bowmanstown Borough Council.

Michael J. Yeastedt: 216 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe, seeking a four-year term on the Jim Thorpe Borough Council.

Michael Kokinda II: 252 E. Hazard St., Summit Hill, seeking a two-year term and a four-year term on the Summit Hill Borough Council.

Marco R. D’Ancona: 151 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, seeking a two-year term and a four-year term on the Panther Valley School Board.

Martha Steber: 59 Berwick St., Beaver Meadows, seeking a four-year term on the Beaver Meadows Borough Council.

Frank Ruch: 1386 Twin Crest Drive, Lehighton, seeking a four-year term on the Lehighton School Board.
