Car flips onto roof after avoiding bus

No one was injured when a 2011 Mazda flipped onto its roof in a crash at 6:37 p.m. Sept. 28 on Route 209, Interchange Road, in Franklin Township.

State police at Lehighton said Courtney Johnson, 34, of East Stroudsburg, was driving the northbound when a bus in front of his vehicle was making a wide turn onto Rock Street. Police said Johnson was in the left passing lane but returned to the right lane before the bus moved back moved into the right lane. Johnson told police he swerved off to the right to avoid the bus when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, went up an embankment and flipped onto its roof.

The driver was cited in the crash.
