Car goes off road, hits embankment in Walker
A driver escaped serious injury Tuesday afternoon in a crash along Route 443 in Walker Township. According to reports on the scene, the crash occurred at 3:45 p.m. as the driver was traveling west at the intersection of Wildcat Road. The car entered the right berm where it plunged down a step and deep storm drain. The car continued on, hitting the far embankment, coming out of the culvert, crossing over Wildcat Road and coming to rest on a private lot. The driver was evaluated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance. Walker Township New England fire company assisting at the scene. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
