Car slides into tree in Mahoning

Gilbert's Hill road in Mahoning Township was closed this morning because of a crash.

The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. as a motorist was traveling north descending the Mahoning Mountain.

The car slid on a snow and ice covered roadway into a tree along the berm. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics.

Responding was the Mahoning Valley Fire Company. Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
