Car window smashed, purse stolen at Mauch Chunk Lake

Jim Thorpe police are investigating the theft of a purse from a vehicle in the borough.

The incident happened on Sunday at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, Lentz Trail.

The victim reported that she parked her 2014 Ford Escape in the parking lot of the park at 12:10 p.m. and locked her doors as she got out of the vehicle.

When she returned an hour later, she saw her vehicle’s passenger side rear door window smashed and her purse removed.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the theft to call the department at 570-325-4995.
