A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.

Classic Beverages Inc., 63 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, was cited for an incident on May 4 when it sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to minors.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
