Carbon commissioners approve personnel moves
Carbon County commissioners approved a number of reappointments to the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board on Thursday.
Kimberley Miller of the Carbon County Action Committee and Ann Marie Richmond of the Mauch Chunk Trust Company were reappointed to three-year terms as community representatives, while Margaret “Marge” Frymoyer and Mary Gilhool, both of Jim Thorpe, were reappointed to three-year terms as consumer representatives on the board. Their terms expire June 30, 2021.
Joseph Sebelin of the Pocono Workforce Investment Agency and Virginia “Ginny” Tatusko representing St. Luke’s, the former Blue Mountain Health System were reappointed to one-year terms as community representatives, while Marveline Costenbader of Palmerton, Anthony DiMiceli of Nesquehoning and Grace Riggio of Lehighton were reappointed to one-year terms as consumer representatives. Their terms expire June 30, 2019.
Other business
The commissioners approved the following items:
• An application to the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool for a Loss Prevention grant in the amount of $2,157 for the purchase of two AED units. The AEDs would be placed in the courthouse annex and in the 76 Susquehanna St. building.
• An amendment to the lease agreement with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to be able to temporarily relocate the county’s 911 equipment into the turnpike’s shelter during the construction of the Big Boulder tower until the county can place a new shelter on the site.
• An addendum to the agreement for refuse collection and single stream recycling with County Waste of Pennsylvania LLC of Lake Ariel. The action adds a 4-cubic-yard dumpster at the Carbon County Animal Shelter. A $26.25 fee will be charged per pickup.
• The Carbon County Animal Shelter received a $1,000 donation.
• The resignation of Brian D. Lewis Jr. of Nesquehoning, part-time seasonal park maintenance, effective July 8.
• The employment separation of David J. Harrison of Nesquehoning, part-time parking attendant, effective July 12.
• Clerk of courts appointments for Samantha M. Jones of Summit Hill, collection clerk II, and Jodi Ann Sonon of Weissport, part-time automation clerk, both in bureau of collections, effective July 19.
• Sheriff appointment of Michael S. Hatcher of New Tripoli, special deputy sheriff trainee, effective July 16.
• Changes of status for Theresa C. Rossman of Weatherly, from part-time dispatcher to 911 operator; and Karen L. Sweeney of Nesquehoning, from clerical specialist to bench warrant clerk in clerk of courts office, both effective July 16.
