Carbon County commissioners
Carbon County commissioners approved a number of personnel moves on Thursday:
• Resignation: Eladio I. Gonzalez of Allentown, part-time corrections officer/Teamsters, effective Nov. 25.
• Changes of status: Theresa C. Rossman of Weatherly, from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher, communications center, effective Dec. 25; Allen B. Strohl of Lehighton, from special deputy sheriff to deputy sheriff, sheriff’s office, effective Dec. 26; Rick D. Montero of Albrightsville, from part-time security officer to special deputy sheriff trainee, sheriff’s office, effective Dec. 26; and Kaisy K. Valdez of Nesquehoning, from part-time corrections officer to part-time corrections officer/Teamsters, effective Jan. 1.
• Hires: Eric J. Filer of Coaldale, assistant public defender, effective Jan. 2; and Eric T. Wiltrout of Johnstown, full-time assistant public defender, effective Jan. 2.
Other business
The commissioners also acted on the following items:
• Approved a $1,562.71 tax refund for Community Options Inc. of Princeton, New Jersey, for a property in Penn Forest Township. The refund was due to a court order that exempted the property in January 2016.
• Approved an agreement with Anthony Ryan Schwenk of Bechtelsville for consultant services for the Information Technology department at a rate of $85 per hour, not to exceed 300 hours unless prior approval is obtained. The term of the agreement is Dec. 15 through Dec. 31 and will renew on an annual basis starting Jan. 1 unless terminated by either party.
• Approved an agreement with Lehighton Ambulance Association, the centralized organization to distribute naloxone to various emergency services, to provide naloxone to the adult probation, juvenile probation and sheriff’s department.
• Approved a proposed from United Inspection Services for a geo technical study consisted of core borings for a storage facility project at an estimated cost of $6,250.
• Reappointed Carbon Engineering of Summit Hill as the county engineer.
