Carbon County Conservation District holds reorganization meeting
The Carbon County Conservation District board held its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 25.
Josiah Behrens was reappointed as chairman, a position he has held since 2011. Merle Hunsicker was appointed vice chairman, and Robin Cressley was appointed secretary-treasurer.
New board member Scott Mosier was sworn in for a four-year term on the board as a farmer director. He replaced Robert Miller, who stepped down from the board in 2017 after 30 years of service.
Hunsicker was reappointed for another four-year term on the board, and County Commissioner Wayne Nothstein was reappointed to a one-year term.
State law requires the county commissioners to appoint one of their own members, as well as three farmer directors, and three public directors, to make up the conservation district board.
The board also began preliminary discussion on revising its fees for reviewing projects taking place in the county. No decision was made
The fees have not been changed in about four years.
District staff charted the fees from surrounding counties and compared them to Carbon’s.
Conservation district meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at the district office on Interchange Road.
