Carbon County court – DUI

Seven defendants who previously pleaded to driving under the influence and related charges, were sentenced last Friday in Carbon County court.

Judge Joseph J. Matika imposed sentences on the following:

Kyle Thomas Bisher, 27, of Nazareth, was sentenced to serve 10 days to 24 months in a state prison, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.

He was arrested on April 29, 2017, along Ridge Street by Lansford police. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC. He was previously placed in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked from it for violating conditions.

Bisher is currently in a state prison on other charges.

Adrian M. Thompson, 25, of Albrightsville, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service. He was given credit for 69 days served on the charge and paroled.

He was arrested on April 11, 2015, by Kidder Township police along Route 903. He was previously placed in the county’s ARD probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.

At the time of the DUI plea he also pleaded to one count of simple assault. He was arrested on July 22, 2017, by Lansford police at a residence along West Ridge Street. Police responded to the residence to a report of an unwanted person. The two victims reported that Thompson arrived at the home and kicked in a door to gain entry and confronted a man in the residence. The one victim said he and Thompson had a verbal confrontation the day before.

On that charge he was sentenced to serve 30 days to six months in prison, concurrent with the DUI count. He was given credit for 69 days served and paroled.

Theodore Joseph Faenza, 64, of Summit Hill, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension, render 25 hours of community service and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.

He was arrested on April 13 by Mahoning Township police along Route 443. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He will began serving the prison term at 9 a.m. on Oct. 24.

Dalton Allen Vanhorn, 26, of Kunkletown, was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300, one-year license suspension, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and render a total of 50 hours of community service. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he was placed on probation for a year, concurrent with the DUI count.

He was arrested on March 20, 2017, by Kidder Township police along Route 534 at the Holiday Pocono development. He refused a test.

He is currently an inmate in the Monroe County prison on two pending criminal cases.

Kelly J. Eckhart, 45, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render a total of 50 hours of community service. She was given credit for eight days already served and paroled.

On a corruption count she was placed on probation for a year, concurrent with the DUI count.

She was arrested on June 12 by Mahoning Township police along Hemlock Drive. Police found a 16-year-old female in the vehicle, which led to the corruption count.

Michael G. Fischetti, 29, of Lewisburg, Union County, was sentenced to serve five years in the Intermediate Punishment Program, render 100 hours of community service, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and must successfully complete a drug program he is currently enrolled in in Union County.

He was arrested on April 17, 2017, along Route 940 by Kidder Township police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

Gregory Sabo, 35, of Lansford, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to 6 months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.

He was arrested on May 29 along West Patterson Street by Lansford police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He was previously placed in the ARD probation program but was revoked from it for violating conditions.

He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
