Carbon County court – DUI
Four people entered guilty pleas to driving under the influence charges last Friday in Carbon County court.
Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:
Albert Swetavage, 28, of McAdoo, was arrested on July 3 by Weatherly police along Plane Street. A test revealed a 0.15 BAC.
A first offense, he was placed on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300, render 25 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation and follow any recommendation of his drug and alcohol evaluation.
Alicia Koons, 30, of Bowmanstown, was arrested on Feb. 28 by Nesquehoning police at Mermon Avenue and East Catawissa Street. A test revealed a 0.24 BAC.
Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Jacob Leonard Lazar, 27, of Weatherly, was arrested on Nov. 8, 2017, along Lehigh Gorge Drive in Lehigh Township, by state police at Hazleton. A test revealed a 0.25 BAC.
Sentencing was deferred so Lazar can apply for placement in the Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.
Samantha J. Nedley, 35, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on Feb. 26 along Ridge Street by Lansford police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
ARD placement
Anitra M. Sutton, 39, of Lansford, was placed in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Friday for a year on a DUI charge. She was arrested on June 2 by Lansford police along Patterson Street. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.
She was assessed $500 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision while in the program, follow any recommendation of her drug and alcohol evaluation, and her license was suspended for 30 days.
