Carbon County court – revocations

A former Tamaqua woman, who now lists a Nesquehoning address, had her probation revoked on a drug charge recently and was resentenced to a Carbon County jail term.

Alyssa McCarroll, 30, had her probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on a petition filed by adult probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions of her release by admitting using marijuana, engaging in overt behavior by attempting to submit a clean urine screen in an unconventional manner, failing to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and failing to complete 50 hours of community service.

Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced her to serve four to 12 months in the county prison with the effective date of Feb. 13.

Gregory Oliver, 27, of Hazleton, had his parole revoked on a charge of driving under the influence on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by failing to make a concerted effort to pay court costs, failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment and failing to complete 25 hours of community service.

Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve three months back time beginning at 9 a.m. on July 1. However, if he completes drug and alcohol counseling, 25 hours of community service and pays $300 on his court costs, in addition to making his regular monthly payments, by that date the order will be vacated.
