Carbon County court — ARD

Eight first-time defendants in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, then they will face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Racheal Lee Haskell, 22, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. She was arrested on Nov. 25, 2017, by Lehighton police along East Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Julie Joy Kanouff, 29, of Morrisdale, Clearfield County, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Nov. 4, 2017, by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed a 0.18 BAC.

She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Michael J. Kleintop, 41, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Jan. 25 by state police at Lehighton along Spruce Hollow Road in Towamensing Township.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Stefone Leisure, 32, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 21, 2016, by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.

He was assessed $650 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Aaron Gregory Long, 28, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Dec. 22, 2017, along Forest Inn Road in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.

He was assessed $550 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Michael Allen Minnich Jr., 37, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Sept. 22, 2017, along Ninth Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Angela Rugerio/Tamalatzi, 31, of White Haven, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Dec. 25, 2017, by Lehighton police along Ochre Street. A test revealed a 0.19 BAC.

She was assessed $550 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Yvonne Ann Zukosky, 52, of Schuylkill Haven, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Dec. 1, 2017, along Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed a 0.26 BAC.

She was assessed $550 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee and those charged with DUI follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
