Carbon County court — ARD
Three first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, they would then face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
Placed were:
Harley David Hull, 20, of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on April 21 by Lehighton police along Ridge alley. A test revealed a 0.19 BAC.
He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 90 days.
Brandi A. Johnson, 40, of Nesquehoning, formerly of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested for an incident on June 19, 2017, by Lehighton police with her mother the listed victim.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.
Samuel Nase, 18, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of corruption of minors. He was charged by Lehighton police for an incident on Sept. 13, 2017, when officers said he made inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old female.
He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 100 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
