Carbon County court — ARD

Five people were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program last Friday on criminal charges by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Brandon Michael Bigas, 27, of Bath, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on July 4, 2018, by state police at Lehighton along Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Javier Ceron Guzman, 47, of Summit Hill, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was arrested on Dec. 28, 2018, by Summit Hill police along East Vernon Street.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.

Brittany Ann Kehlenbeck, 32, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Sept. 5, 2018, by state police at Lehighton along Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC.

She was assessed $550 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Willard J. Nace, 63, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, oxycodone. He was charged by Lansford police on Nov. 29, 2018, for selling the drug to a confidential informant.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 20 hours of community service and make restitution of $82.

Jose Juan Rosa, 45, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on May 18, 2017, along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $650 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Corrin Lee Mack, 38, of Bethel, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on Aug. 25, 2018, by Lehighton police along Third Avenue.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
