Carbon County court — drug cases
Four people facing drug charges entered guilty pleas last Thursday in Carbon County court.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted pleas from the following:
Joseph Clemens Visnosky IV, 20, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine.
He was arrested on Sept. 7, 2017, by Palmerton police in the area of Fourth Street and Franklin Avenue following a vehicle stop.
Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he pay a fine of $250, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.
Ciera D. Bellesfield, 21, of Red Hill, Montgomery County, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was arrested on Nov. 30, 2017, in the Palmerton area by agents of the state Attorney General’s office as part of an ongoing investigation. A charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped in a plea bargain.
Nanovic placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a D&A evaluation and zero tolerance for D&A use.
Samantha Locher, 23, of Lehighton, pleaded in two pending cases to two counts of possession of a small amount of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was arrested on the first incident on Jan. 13, 2017, in the parking lot of Square One Market by Franklin Township police. The second arrest occurred on July 4, 2017, at South Second and Bridge streets by Lehighton police. In both cases she was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police and found to have illegal drugs.
On the paraphernalia charge she was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.
On the two marijuana counts she was fined $100 on each count and costs.
Kaitlin Nicole Frohnheiser, 26, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested by Lehighton police on Dec. 10, 2017, in the area of 216 N. First St.
She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance for D&A use and continue her current counseling sessions.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
