Carbon County court — drug cases

A former Carbon County resident entered a guilty plea on Friday to a drug dealing charge.

He was one of five defendants in drug-pending charges to enter a plea before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Kidder incident

Ariel Ann Shattuck, 40, formerly of Lake Harmony and now of San Carlos, California, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Shattuck was arrested on July 14, 2017, when Kidder Township police responded to a Country Place Inn along Route 940 for a report of an unconscious person in one of the rooms at the inn. On scene, Shattuck was found to be the person in question and three bundles of heroin were also found.

Matika deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.

Other pleas

Timothy John Jones, 28, of White Haven, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested on June 22, 2017, following a traffic stop by state police at Fern Ridge.

Matika deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI by the adult probation office.

Tina McGinnis, 32, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

She was arrested on April 19 by Summit Hill police in the area along West Ludlow Street.

Matika imposed a fine of $150.

Felicia Lynn Fritz, 25, of Northampton, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

She was arrested on Feb. 20 by Lansford police following a traffic stop along Patterson Street.

Matika imposed a fine of $150.

Nathaniel Scott Goff, 20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested on March 28 by Summit Hill police along North Street following a traffic stop.

Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.

He is currently an inmate in the county prison facing a probation violation proceeding.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 supervision fee while on parole or probation.
